The Anxiety Flight – Poetry by Katherine

To conquer anxiety is to conquer all your worst fears at once
It’s is a constant battle that you have to fight every single day
It can seem “dramatic”, “extra,” and “illogical”.
We get told to “Just relax”, “Calm down”, “You’ll be fine”
But in that moment, when you can’t breathe and your chest feels like somebody say a building down on it,  you’re on the floor crying, and it feels like this will last forever.
No,  we can’t calm down.
No,  we can’t just relax.
Yes, we know it’s Illogical.
But in that moment, it is life or death for us.
Fight, flight, freeze, or pass out.
At that moment, we lost our critical thinking skills.
In that moment,  all we want is for that feeling to stop.
5 minutes or 5 hours,  every day or every week,  we fight our worst fears in the form of anxiety.
Nothing has to trigger us.
Nothing needs to happen.
Anxiety just happens.
Panic attacks just happen.
So don’t tell us to calm down.
Don’t tell us to relax.
Just be there for us until it’s over.

I would tell you where I live, but I live in different places every few months. I enjoy traveling and seeing new things. I have been a professional photographer for many years now and do all styles of photography. I enjoy modeling from time to time as well. I make candles, Chapstick, tea, spell jars, sage bundles...I collect crystals and I like painting. I sell the crafts I create, to make room for more.
